In this energetic position, you will support dental professionals by ensuring infection control protocols are strictly followed, assisting with patient management, and preparing dental instruments and equipment for daily procedures. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and verifying patient information in patient management software.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to ensure patient safety throughout their visit.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies by accurately documenting medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Operate dental equipment such as Eaglesoft, and facilitate smooth clinic operations.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
- Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records.
- Demonstrated understanding of dental x-ray techniques.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment like X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently.
- Strong communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient care roles are beneficial for managing patient interactions effectively.
