Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Digital Press Operator to join our production team in the Holyoke, MA area. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting our fleet of Ricoh and Konica Minolta production printers. The ideal candidate ensures all print runs meet stringent quality and color standards while adhering to daily production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor Ricoh and Konica Minolta digital presses to execute complex job tickets.
- Color Management: Calibrate machines, perform daily color balancing, and adjust registration to maintain exact color accuracy and print consistency.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventive maintenance (cleaning, replacing consumables) and troubleshoot technical errors to minimize press downtime.
- Material Handling: Load appropriate paper stocks, adjust feeders and stackers, and manage print substrate inventory.
- Quality Control: Conduct continuous visual and physical inspections of printed materials to identify defects before, during, and after runs.
- Production Management: Track job data, manage print queues for optimal efficiency, and ensure all projects are completed on schedule.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience operating commercial digital presses, with demonstrated proficiency on Ricoh production platforms and Konica Minolta.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of digital workflow software (e.g., Fiery, Kodak Prinergy) and variable data printing (VDP).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and routinely lift/move 50 lbs.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and excellent problem-solving skills.
