Sushiya in Hacienda Heights is hiring full-time and part-time sushi helpers to support our sushi team.
We are a high-volume all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant focused on quality, consistency, cleanliness, and presentation. This position is ideal for someone with basic sushi kitchen experience who wants to develop their skills in a fast-paced restaurant.
Position Details
Full-time and part-time positions available
Starting pay: $19 per hour
Additional tips included through the restaurant’s tip pool
Tips are distributed through payroll and are not paid in cash after each shift
Full-time schedule is generally five days per week
Requirements
Previous restaurant or sushi kitchen experience preferred
Basic knife skills and food preparation experience
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
Willingness to learn sushi preparation and restaurant procedures
Ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation
Responsibilities
Assist sushi chefs with food preparation and station setup
Prepare vegetables, sauces, garnishes, and other ingredients
Help with basic roll preparation and plating as trained
Keep the sushi station clean, stocked, and organized
Assist with fish preparation and inventory when needed
Follow food-safety, sanitation, and storage procedures
Support the sushi and kitchen teams during busy service
