Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals and families. This role requires expertise in various therapeutic techniques and the ability to work collaboratively with clients to develop effective treatment plans.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine mental health needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, including those experiencing PTSD, addiction, or behavioral health issues.
- Engage in crisis management and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, including case management and referrals for additional services.
- Participate in research initiatives related to mental health practices and contribute to data collection efforts for program evaluation.
- Stay informed about current trends in mental health counseling, including updates on ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and CPT coding practices.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent licensure.
- Experience in psychotherapy, child & family counseling, and behavioral therapy is preferred.
- Familiarity with home & community care settings as well as hospital experience is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to manage medical records effectively.
- Proven skills in crisis intervention, addiction counseling, clinical counseling, and case management are essential.
- Experience with group therapy facilitation and applied behavior analysis is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
