Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with attention to detail and authenticity
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in all food preparation areas
- Develop innovative sushi recipes and presentation techniques to enhance menu offerings
- Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Educate and guide junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices
- Uphold all safety protocols and adhere to health regulations consistently
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Creativity in plating and presentation to create visually appealing dishes
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
