A leader in our industry, we are looking to hire a skilled Trailer Mechanic/Technician for our Kernersville based Fleet Maintenance department. The Trailer Technician is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of our trailers to ensure a safe and efficient operation. This will require a high level of proficiency in working trailers, tires, PM’s including air brakes, wheel seals, and DOT inspection repairs and sign-offs.
Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- 2 + years of experience in general trailer repair
- Knowledge of DOT requirements regarding service and repair of equipment
- Has a fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 28ft,48ft & 53ft dry van and flatbed commercial trailers including the following:
- Suspension and running gear components
- Electrical, lighting and wiring components
- Interior and floor components
- ABS system diagnosis and repair
- Able to thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
- Welding and metal fabrication skills
- Experience with rear roll up and swing doors
- Performing service calls and on-site trailer PM services
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Basic computer skills
- A CDL is preferred, but NOT required for consideration
Compensation is based upon experience and can be discussed during the screening and interview process.
