The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in non-destructive testing techniques, and a commitment to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform destructive testing procedures on materials and components using appropriate methods such as tensile, compression, impact, and fatigue testing to assess performance under stress.
- Conduct non-destructive testing techniques including ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), penetrant testing, and X-ray inspection to identify flaws without damaging the test specimen.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to prepare test setups accurately according to engineering specifications.
- Collect, analyze, and document data meticulously during testing processes to ensure precise results for quality control and quality assurance purposes.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment in accordance with ASME codes & standards to guarantee accuracy and safety during operations.
- Support manufacturing processes by testing equipment functionality, verifying compliance with safety protocols, and ensuring adherence to industry standards such as ASME.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining test procedures, results, analysis findings, and recommendations for product improvements or further testing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret test data for product development or failure analysis.
- Follow strict safety protocols during all testing activities to prevent accidents or damage.
- Assist in training team members on proper testing techniques and safety procedures.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of non-destructive testing methods including ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), penetrant testing, and X-ray inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to engineering tests.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, soldering equipment, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT) components is advantageous for integrated electronic component testing.
- Experience with quality control and quality assurance practices within manufacturing environments.
- Ability to analyze data accurately using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel for data collection and reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to equipment testing and non-destructive evaluation procedures.
- Skilled in steel magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and steel radiographic testing (RT) techniques for material flaw detection.
- Understanding of safety protocols related to industrial equipment operation and hazardous materials handling.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and technical drawings effectively for precise test setup.
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills coupled with familiarity in equipment calibration procedures.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals committed to precision engineering, quality assurance excellence, and advancing non-destructive testing technologies.
