Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled part-time Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care and education to our patients while ensuring compliance with all health regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, patient assessment, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and oral examinations.
- Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth to maintain optimal oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants in various procedures, including general dentistry and pediatrics.
- Utilize medical imaging technologies to assist in diagnosing dental conditions.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and hygiene practices.
- Familiarity with dental assisting duties is a plus.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in using dental software systems, particularly Dentrix, is desirable.
