Job Summary:
We are seeking someone with experience in controls engineering for material handling systems. This role is responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning PLC-based control systems used in automated environments such as freight and parcel facilities, airport baggage handling systems, and warehouse or distribution centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems for automated material handling equipment
- Program PLCs from scratch and develop related control logic
- Configure and support system components including HMIs, drives, and field devices
- Lead or support commissioning of new automated systems at customer sites
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues during testing and startup
- Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and field technicians
- Ensure control systems meet operational, safety, and performance requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in controls engineering for material handling systems
- Strong PLC programming experience from initial development through implementation
- Hands-on commissioning experience with new automated systems
- Industry experience in freight and parcel systems, airport baggage handling, and/or warehouse and distribution automation
- Familiarity with system integration in high-speed automated environments
- Ability to work in cross-functional project teams and support field commissioning activities
