Job Type: Part Time (Monday–Friday) 9:30AM to 1:30 PM
Pay: $14.00–$16.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Summary
The Cafeteria Cleaning Team Member is responsible for keeping the school cafeteria, kitchen, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitary. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students and staff while supporting daily cafeteria operations.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, serving lines, tables, and countertops.
- Sweep and mop cafeteria and kitchen floors throughout the day.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
- Restock cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when supplies are running low.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and use approved cleaning chemicals.
- Support cafeteria staff with cleaning tasks before, during, and after meal service.
- Perform deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and cafeteria areas as scheduled.
- Assist with special events and additional cleaning projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, restaurant, or cafeteria experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
