LVN working in a correctional facility / county jail. Duties and requirements would include the following:
- Oversee and maintain the set up and dispensing schedules of prescribed medications for inmates.
- Call in prescription refills and verify receipt of medications from the pharmacy.
- Pass medications to inmates.
- Conduct TB testing and reading of results on inmates. Document and report results.
- Triage minor medical complaints.
- Work with and assist the jail medical provider.
- Check inmate blood pressures, blood sugars, etc... for inmates needing such.
- Maintain medical supplies inventory.
- Order medical supplies, including over-the-counter medications.
- Must be able to work around inmates.
- Must be able to follow rules and regulations.
- Must be willing and able to obtain a Texas Jailer License. (Courses and testing provided by Deaf Smith County Jail)
- Must be able to meet state jailer licensing requirements.
Starting pay: $60,000 a year
Certificate Pay: (Additional Pay) (Details to qualify are available upon request)
- Basic Jailer- $2,000 a year in addition to salary (Acquired by all staff after 1 year of employment)
- Intermediate Jailer- $3,000 a year in addition to salary
- Advanced Jailer- $4,000 a year in addition to salary
- Master Jailer- $5,000 a year in addition to salary
Uniform Allowance: $2,160 a year
Qualifications
- Have an up-to-date LVN license.
- Must be at least 18.
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be of good moral character.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid Texas driver's license with good driving history.
- No Felony or Class "A" Misdemeanor convictions on Criminal History.
- No Class "B" convictions in the past 10 years on Criminal History.
- Must be willing to work overtime if the need arises.
