About the Opportunity:
Sky Elements Drone Shows is seeking skilled Drone Light Show Pilots to help bring our breathtaking aerial displays to life. As a pilot, you will lead show operations, ensuring safe and seamless execution in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
This role involves significant interaction with clients, local FAA officials, and crew members, making professionalism and strong communication skills essential. Candidates should live within commuting distance of a major airport and be open to extensive travel, as shows may take place throughout the country. Proximity to one or more major airport hubs where we regularly conduct shows is preferred.
This position is on a contract basis to start, with the opportunity to become a part-time employee. Initial training and early work opportunities are considered part of an ongoing, in-person evaluation process for future assignments and advancement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients and represent Sky Elements Drones professionally.
- Pilot or co-pilot unmanned aircraft systems (UAS/UAV) during complex drone light show operations.
- Follow all FAA regulations, safety protocols, operational procedures, and company policies.
- Coordinate with local FAA officials, when needed, and communicate with internal teams to support regulatory compliance and operational safety.
- Partner closely with another pilot or co-pilot throughout the workday to prepare for and execute safe, successful flight operations.
- Troubleshoot operational and technical issues while maintaining attention to detail under time-sensitive conditions.
- Collaborate with clients, crew members, and internal teams to deliver high-quality performances at prominent events.
Required Qualifications:
- Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Professional experience in drone operations, commercial UAS/UAV operations, or a related aviation field.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations and aeronautical standards.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work in changing environments.
- Experience in a client-facing role with a demonstrated record of professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems, follow detailed procedures, and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with information technology, software, or other technical systems.
- Experience using expense-management software such as Expensify.
- Hands-on knowledge of technical equipment and field operations.
- Interest in continuous learning and innovation within the drone technology industry.
Schedule, Travel, and Work Environment:
- This is a travel-intensive role supporting shows in various locations throughout the United States.
- Work is typically performed in two-person pilot teams, with pilots and co-pilots sharing responsibilities throughout the day.
- Schedules vary based on show assignments and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Initial training and early assignments are part of an ongoing, in-person evaluation process for future assignments and advancement opportunities.
- Preference may be given to candidates near major airports serving Dallas–Fort Worth, Phoenix, Colorado, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Tennessee, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Georgia.

Work Environment:
- Work is typically performed in pairs - Pilots and Co-Pilots share the responsibilities for the day and are expected to work as a team to perform their duties and ensure a safe flight
- Direct collaborations with high-profile clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional performance at prominent events.
