Part-Time Freelance Social Media Manager (Restaurants)
SOFO Marketing is hiring a part-time freelance Social Media Manager with restaurant and hospitality experience.
This role will manage 3 restaurant social media accounts across Instagram and Facebook.
Details
- Compensation range starts at $20/hour and is dependent on experience, skillset, and overall fit
- Expected hours: 7–10 hours/week
- Raleigh-based preferred

Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day social media activity for 3 accounts
- Schedule and publish 3–4 posts per week per account
- Write captions aligned with each brand voice
- Create some original content and work with existing client assets
- Community management and engagement
Inbound Engagement
- Respond to comments and DMs
- Engage with tagged posts and location check-ins
- Monitor account activity consistently
Outbound Engagement
- Like and comment on relevant local/community content
- Support outbound engagement strategies to increase visibility and local awareness
Requirements
- Prior restaurant or hospitality social media experience required
- Strong understanding of Instagram and Facebook best practices
- Photography and video editing skills required
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable managing deadlines and communicating proactively
- Able to work independently in a fast-moving environment
- Interested in staying current with modern hospitality, restaurant, and social media trends

A genuine interest in food and beverage culture is important, along with familiarity with restaurants, wine, and cocktails.
Communication Expectations
This role requires strong communication, consistency, and active day-to-day account management. We’re looking for someone who is highly responsive, stays on top of tasks independently, and communicates proactively.
Influencer Coordination
- Identify and suggest influencer partnership opportunities for each account
- Coordinate influencer visits and communications
- Review inbound partnership requests via DMs and email
- Track influencer deliverables and campaign performance
- Maintain influencer tracking spreadsheets and internal resources
- Help keep influencer brand guidelines and outreach materials organized and updated
