The Peer Recovery Specialist under the direction of the Behavioral Health Medical Director will have a strong understanding of addiction and recovery processes, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting individual and group non-clinical, strength-based support, performing patient assessments, and developing personalized treatment plans to facilitate recovery. The Peer Recovery Specialist will also engage in case management and crisis intervention, ensuring that clients receive the necessary resources and support throughout their recovery journey.

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience in individual group counseling and case management within an addiction treatment setting.

Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to addiction treatment.

Familiarity with research data collection methods, tracking, and reporting related to behavioral health outcomes.

Strong skills in crisis management and intervention strategies.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.

A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in counseling practices.

Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records. Proficiency with eClinicalWorks, preferred.

Must be attentive to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
