Middletown Springs Elementary School - Guidance Counselor - 2026-2027- Middletown Springs Elementary School is a PreK-6 school seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic school guidance counselor to join our school community beginning the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: *Confidentiality regarding students, families, and staff.*Working on a team with special educators, interventionists, teachers and administration to support one another in effectively providing assistance to students in need.*Implementing effective interventions to support students with coping strategies; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, and study skills; career awareness and the world of work; substance education; and multicultural awareness.*Providing individual and small group counseling dealing with self-image and self-esteem, personal adjustment, family issues, interpersonal concerns, academic development, and behavior modification, as well as peer facilitation and peer mediation.*Providing assessment by helping students identify their skills, abilities, achievements, and interests through counseling and guidance activities, and interpretation of standardized tests.*Providing push-in SEL lessons and counseling students daily and weekly. *Coordinating school, community and business resources, school wide guidance-related activities, and extracurricular programs, which promote students' personal growth and skill development.*Coordinating CSP meetings.*Communicating and exchanging information with families on a regular basis by way of conferences, parent education workshops, and newsletters.*Participating as members of the school improvement and interdisciplinary teams.*Working to discover and develop special abilities of students.*Help with scheduling.*Planning for school VTCAP testing and other standardized tests, andvarious administrative duties.Position Type: Full-timeJob RequirementsAt least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.Bachelor degree required.Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
