Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled driver/clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various driving environments, including van driving and route driving. However experience is not mandatory. This position requires a commitment to safety and customer service while efficiently transporting completed orders to their destinations. During down time, you will be required to assist in drycleaner's operations including assembly, customer service and cleaning as needed. Part-time position for the time being with the potential of becoming full-time. Schedule: Tue and Thu 8:30 am-2:30 pm. SAT 8:30 am-2:30 pm. If you are not available during those hours, please do not apply. Must have a valid Texas Driver's license and be able to work legally in the United States.
Duties
- Operate vehicles such as vans in a safe and responsible manner.
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure the timely delivery maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Load and unload orders as necessary, ensuring proper handling of all items.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Provide assistance in drycleaner's operations when needed, including assembly, customer service and cleaning.
- Comply with all company policies regarding safety and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver in various settings (e.g., van driver).
- Experience with paratransit services is desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 25 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading orders.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Reliability is a MUST!
