Shining Star Music Academy is currently hiring a Strings Teacher in the Orlando area to help meet growing demand for violin, viola, and cello lessons. We provide in-home lessons, and our team handles all scheduling, communication, and administrative tasks so you can focus on what you love—teaching music.
We're looking for a teacher who can teach violin, viola, cello, or a combination of these instruments, and who is also comfortable teaching beginner piano. We have an immediate opening for students and are also hiring for the Fall 2026 semester.
You'll be joining a passionate team of educators committed to providing high-quality instruction and joyful learning experiences. We are anticipating serving over 1,000 students this semester, making this a great time to join our growing team!

- $29.50–$33.00 per teaching hour
- $14.00/hour for driving time (between your first and last lesson)
Work Location
- On the road (in-home music lessons throughout the Orlando area)
Minimum Requirements (Please do not apply unless you meet all of the following):
- Teach violin, viola, cello, or multiple string instruments
- Comfortable teaching beginner piano
- Private music lesson experience as a student
- Performance experience
- Live locally in or near Orlando, FL
- Reliable vehicle
- Willing to teach at least 2 hours per week
- Self-directed, responsible, punctual, and professional
- Passion for sharing music with students
- Flexible, student-centered teaching style
Also Desired (Not Required):
- Experience teaching private music lessons
- Experience teaching any subject
- Experience working with children

If your primary instrument is not piano but have had classes or lessons in piano yourself as a student, would you be comfortable teaching beginner level piano to young children?
