What You’ll Do
- Attend deliveries (vaginal and C-section), assist with newborn transition
- Admit and discharge neonates from NICU and NOU
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team (MD, RN, NNP, social services, RT, radiology, OT)
- Educate and update parents, support breastfeeding efforts
- Place IVs, draw labs, manage ventilators and central lines
- Administer medications (IV, IM, SQ, oral, topical, eye drops)
- Assist with procedures like chest tube insertion, PICC, UAC, UVC placement
- Perform bedside tests (x-rays, ABGs, ultrasounds, echocardiograms)
- Assist with intubations, oxygen, nitric oxide, and exchange transfusions
What You Need
- Active RN license in Louisiana
- BLS & NRP certifications
- Minimum of 3 years NICU experience, level III preferred
- Skilled in IV placement, medication administration, ventilator management
- Compassionate with strong customer service and teamwork skills
- Capable of managing complex medical procedures, patient safety, and family communication
