Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will ensure that all plumbing work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, gas piping systems, and HVAC components on construction sites or in existing buildings.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise pipe installation and system layouts.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to complete plumbing tasks efficiently and safely.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, plumbing building codes, and safety regulations while maintaining compliance with the latest industry standards.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) tasks on existing plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment while following safety protocols to prevent injuries on the job site.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry or HVAC teams during remodeling or construction projects to coordinate installation efforts seamlessly.
Skills
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction plans; familiarity with building code compliance is essential.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools necessary for pipe installation and repairs.
- Knowledge of gas piping systems, pipe installation techniques, and plumbing system maintenance practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while applying basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or project managers; ability to communicate clearly about technical issues.
- Experience with safety regulations on construction sites including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems or remodeling projects is a plus; familiarity with schematics is highly desirable.
