About Us
Growing craft brewery and gastropub in Central Maryland that believes in bucking the traditional trends of the craft brewing industry, we seek an experienced and driven General Manager to lead day-to-day operations, develop and lead our team, and ensure an outstanding guest experience while driving profitability and growth.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the brewery and kitchen operation, including guest experience, staff leadership, financial performance, inventory management, events, and facility operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong business acumen, leadership skills, high energy, a positive attitude, and a passion for craft beer and hospitality.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop front and back-of-house staff.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
- Lead by example through active floor presence and hands-on management.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and employment practices.
Guest Experience
- Maintain exceptional hospitality standards and service quality.
- Respond to guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and effectively.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the guest experience.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the facility.
Financial Management
- Manage labor, food, beverage, and operating costs to achieve budgeted goals.
- Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
- Oversee cash handling procedures and financial controls.
Operations
- Direct daily operations of the brewery & kitchen, including on-premise and off-premise events.
- Ensure efficient scheduling and staffing levels.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships.
Sales & Marketing Support
- Support social media and brand-building efforts through operational execution.
- Drive private event and group business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the brewing & marketing teams on beer launches, promotions, community & special events.
Facilities & Maintenance
- Ensure the facility and equipment are properly maintained.
- Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain a safe environment for guests and employees.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of restaurant, brewery, bar, gastropub, or hospitality management experience.
- Previous experience as a General Manager or senior leadership role preferred.
- Financial management and budgeting experience.
- Proven success managing labor, food, and beverage costs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with POS systems (Toast), scheduling software, and inventory management systems beneficial.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
- ServSafe Certification and alcohol service certification.
- Passion for hospitality and craft beer culture.
