SENIOR ACCOUNTS PAYABLE PROCESSOR

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Sr. Accounts Payable Processor is a member of the Finance team located in Metairie. This position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing for the Southern U.S. Region. This is a fast-paced position with very high volume.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and enter invoices quickly and accurately
- Review, audit and accurately process employee expense reports.
- Prepare payment runs ensuring vendor payments are made timely according to vendor terms.
- Maintain accounts payable files
- Research and resolve inquiries concerning account status and discrepancies
- Assist with financial audit data requests
- Propose and implement improvements to accounts payable processes to drive efficiency and cost savings, as well as to strengthen internal controls
- Special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of high-volume accounts payable experience
- Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting and AP operations
- Experience in an electronic accounts payable processing environment
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Working knowledge of ERP system
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and track tasks effectively
- Team player with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly, be proactive and take initiative
- Strong problem-solving skills
