Overview
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide, where your expertise will directly impact the quality of life for our residents. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration, patient care, and support daily activities within assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. Your compassionate approach and attention to detail will ensure safe, effective medication management and personalized care for individuals with diverse needs, including those with memory impairments or disabilities. Responsibilities
- Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor and document vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Assist with daily activities including bathing, dressing, mobility support, and feeding for individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper medical records management.
- Support residents with specialized care needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff to assess patient conditions and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Uphold safety standards by practicing proper infection control procedures and adhering to all healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Medication Aide recognized by state licensing boards.
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or disabilities; experience in hospice or memory care is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
