Flow Landscape is a Southern California award-winning water feature specialist, designing, building, and maintaining some of the region's finest ponds, waterfalls, and streams.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in craftsmanship, and wants to become an expert in maintaining beautiful ecosystem water features.
This position begins with a combination of construction and maintenance, allowing you to learn every aspect of how our water features are built. As your knowledge and experience grow, the goal is to transition into a full-time Water Feature Maintenance Technician, becoming the trusted expert who keeps our clients' water features thriving year after year.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with homeowners, and building long-term relationships with clients—not just installing projects.
Primary ResponsibilitiesWater Feature Maintenance (Primary Focus)
- Perform routine maintenance on ponds, waterfalls, streams, fountains, and water gardens
- Complete seasonal pond clean-outs and ecosystem restorations
- Diagnose and repair pumps, plumbing, filtration systems, lighting, and other water feature equipment
- Monitor water quality and recommend treatments when appropriate
- Keep service vehicles organized and stocked for daily routes
- Maintain accurate service records and time tracking
- Provide exceptional customer service during every visit
Construction Support (Training & Development)
- Assist with the construction of custom ponds, pondless waterfalls, fountains, and streams
- Learn excavation, plumbing, liner installation, rock placement, and filtration systems
- Assist with equipment installation and job site preparation
- Help maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
Working on construction projects provides the knowledge needed to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and confidently maintain the water features you'll eventually service independently.
Customer Service & Growth Opportunities
As you develop into a Lead Maintenance Technician, you'll become the primary point of contact for many clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying repair needs before they become major problems
- Recommending equipment upgrades and efficiency improvements
- Suggesting enhancements such as:
- LED lighting
- Additional waterfalls or streams
- Pond expansions
- Water treatments
- Filtration upgrades
- Fish caves, decorative stone, and planting improvements
- Assisting with estimates for recommended work
There will be opportunity to increase your earnings through commissions and bonuses generated from maintenance agreements, repairs, upgrades, and enhancement sales.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Assist with inventory and material organization
- Participate in company training and industry events
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Reliable and punctual
- Available Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, but schedule may vary as needed
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to travel throughout Southern California
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Team player with a commitment to quality
Preferred
- Experience in landscaping, construction, irrigation, plumbing, or maintenance
- Experience with ponds or water features is a plus, but not required—we will train the right person
- Sales or customer service experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work on uneven terrain
- Perform physically demanding work throughout an 8–10 hour workday
- Safely work around water, excavation equipment, and heavy materials

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
