Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members to foster a motivated and skilled workforce
- Supervise team members by providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to promote a positive work environment
- Engage with customers to deliver outstanding service, resolve issues promptly, and enhance their shopping experience
- Oversee inventory management tasks including stock replenishment, ordering, merchandising, and inventory control to maximize sales potential
- Handle cash register operations, cashiering duties, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and cash handling procedures accurately
- Participate in sales management activities such as pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and marketing initiatives
- Assist with shift management by coordinating schedules and ensuring staffing levels meet store needs
- Maintain organizational standards through effective merchandising, stocking, and store cleanliness
- Support administrative functions including payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting assistance, and record keeping
Experience
- Prior supervisory or assistant manager experience within retail or grocery stores is highly preferred
- Demonstrated skills in management, team leadership, and employee orientation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to conduct interviews and provide constructive feedback
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Proven competency in retail math including sales calculations, pricing adjustments, and inventory valuation
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering operations
- Experience in recruiting new staff members and conducting employee training & development sessions
- Knowledge of inventory management techniques such as stock control and purchasing processes
- Organizational skills necessary for shift management, time management, and multitasking in a busy retail setting
- Ability to handle customer service situations professionally using phone etiquette and conflict resolution skills
