Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in HVAC/R systems, plumbing, electrical schematics, and equipment repair. This role involves field service work across various property types, ensuring optimal operation and safety of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. A valid driver’s license is required for travel between job sites. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects with a focus on maintenance, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and plumbing systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, and related mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct equipment repairs using appropriate tools such as welders, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Install new HVAC components or systems following safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all service activities.
- Operate field service vehicles (must have a valid <PERSON> driver license) to reach various job sites efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic with a focus on HVAC/R systems; construction or property maintenance experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including appliance repair, equipment repair, welding, and plumbing skills.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, ammonia refrigeration systems, and air conditioning units.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues effectively.
- Experience working with refrigeration systems including ammonia-based setups is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical components such as ohmmeters for diagnostics.
- Ability to operate tools such as welders and other maintenance equipment safely.
- Prior field service experience in property maintenance or industrial settings preferred.
- Valid driver’s license (specifically <PERSON>) required for travel between locations.
