Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to support our medical team during walk-in wellness clinics. This is a part-time, in-person role ideal for candidates with prior veterinary, animal care, or clinic experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history and record vital signs (TPR)
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures
- Provide client education on preventative care, vaccines, and treatments
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Assist with radiographs (X-rays) and diagnostic procedures
- Collect and process samples (urine, fecal, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of hospital and exam rooms
- Support overall clinic workflow in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Required: Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or animal care setting
- Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Passion for preventative veterinary medicine and client education
Schedule & Availability (REQUIRED)
Candidates must be available for all scheduled clinic shifts:
- Monday: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 4:45 PM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:45 AM – 2:00 PM
Clinic Hours:
- Closed Thursdays & Sundays
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $12.00 – $16.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Expected hours: 10–15 hours per week
