Established in 1987, Children’s Health Fund (CHF) leads a national network to bring comprehensive healthcare to children growing up in under-resourced communities and advocates for the health and well-being of all children. OVERVIEW:
CHF is looking to engage a detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and highly experienced Consultant Grant Writer to source and secure funding in support of our strategic programmatic and financial goals. The ideal consultant will possess exceptional research and communication capabilities, with a proven ability to craft compelling proposals, cultivate funder relationships, and oversee the full grant lifecycle.
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization.
- Conduct prospect research by identifying foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities that align with our strategic objectives.
- Write, edit, and submit highly compelling, clear, and well-organized grant proposals, Letters of Inquiry (LOIs), grant applications, and other supporting documents.
- Work closely with CHF staff to develop program descriptions, gather data, define outcomes, and develop budgets.
- Respond to internal and external queries and feedback on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Maintain an organized calendar of application deadlines and reporting requirements to ensure timely submissions and strict compliance with funder guidelines.
- Prepare interim and final progress reports detailing how funds were utilized and the impact of the funded programs.
- Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of five (5) years of successful grant writing experience for nonprofit organizations.
- Exceptional research, writing, and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to translate complex ideas into persuasive narratives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple deadlines across different projects.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency with grant management databases, research software (e.g., Instrumentl, Foundation Center), Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Enthusiastic and outgoing personality.
- Interest in issues of health care, poverty and/or children is a plus.
