Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring materials and products are received, stored, and distributed efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving
- Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document and report damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately label and organize materials in storage areas.
- Shipping
- Prepare and package outgoing orders according to company and carrier requirements.
- Generate and process shipping labels, bills of lading, and related documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate with freight carriers, couriers, and delivery services.
- Inventory Control
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in company systems.
- Notify supervisors of low stock levels or discrepancies.
- General Warehouse Duties
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Support other departments with material handling needs as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations (preferred).
- Familiarity with shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, freight carriers).
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
