Job Title: Part-Time Physician – Internal Medicine
Work Schedule: Approximately 12 hours per week, preferably across 3 days.
Position Summary: The Part-Time Internist provides high-quality medical care to patients in a state-operated hospital setting. This role is responsible for conducting medical evaluations, coordinating patient care with interdisciplinary staff, and ensuring documentation and clinical practices meet professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care consistent with professional medical standards, including accurate and timely documentation.
- Coordinate treatment and services with other healthcare practitioners and staff.
- Adhere to hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in patient, family, and staff education as appropriate.
- Maintain effective communication and demonstrate professionalism and empathy during patient interactions.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited program.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine (or Family Practice, if applicable).
- Active license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana.
- Valid Indiana Controlled Substance Registration and DEA credentials.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment:
- Position is performed within a state-operated hospital facility.
- May require walking, standing, bending, and similar physical activities as part of regular duties.
