As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing preventative dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality care.
Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and conducting oral examinations.
- Administer dental cleanings and apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Monitor vital signs and document findings accurately in patient records.
- Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols.
- Utilize Dentrix software for patient management and record keeping.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow within the clinic.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is advantageous.
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
