Location: Remote project site near Antelope Wells, NM
Durus Industrial is seeking a dedicated Safety Technician to support the EPT4 Secondary Border Wall Project at Antelope Wells, NM.
This role is responsible for maintaining a strong field presence and ensuring safety compliance across all phases of work including excavation, reinforcing steel installation, panel placement, concrete operations, and welding activities. The Safety Tech will work directly with field leadership to enforce safety standards, identify risks, and drive a zero-incident culture.

Monitor daily field operations for compliance with site safety requirements

Support trenching and excavation safety (sloping, access/egress, spoil placement)

Oversee safe practices during:

Panel picks and installation
-
Reinforcing steel placement
-
Concrete operations
-
Welding and hot work activities
-
Conduct daily safety audits, field observations, and JHA reviews
-
Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
-
Ensure proper use of PPE and enforcement of site safety protocols

Coordinate with Superintendent and Foremen to address safety concerns in real time

Maintain safety documentation, logs, and compliance records
-
Support site orientations and ongoing safety training

3+ years of construction safety experience in heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure projects

Strong understanding of:

Excavation and trench safety
-
Equipment operations and work zone safety

Concrete and reinforcing steel operations

Welding and hot work safety practices
-
Ability to recognize hazards and take immediate corrective action

Familiarity with OSHA standards and jobsite safety enforcement

Experience working in remote or high-production environments preferred

Border construction environment with controlled access

Outdoor work in heat, dust, wind, and uneven terrain

Extended shifts and overtime expected

Strict PPE and safety enforcement at all times
The Safety Technician is expected to be proactive, visible, and engaged in daily operations. This role is not administrative, it requires active field presence, direct interaction with crews, and immediate response to unsafe conditions. The Safety Tech must support production while ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with project requirements.
