Job Summary
The LPN will provide quality nursing care to patients while working as an integral member of the nursing staff and practicing within the appropriate scope of practice. The position requires providing respectful, patient-centered care while protecting patient rights and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Working with Health Aides to ensure patient rooms are stocked and required checklists are completed.
- Assisting with ordering medical supplies.
- Screening telephone calls and assisting mid-level providers in the clinic after hours when requested.
- Providing age-appropriate and culturally sensitive patient care.
- Caring for patients across the lifespan, from newborns to elderly patients.
- Maintaining knowledge of medical terminology and appropriate clinical procedures.
- Providing care and support for patients with psychiatric needs.
- Using office and medical equipment appropriately.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program.
- Active Alaska LPN license in good standing is required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience required per job details; new graduates are noted as acceptable in the position description.
- One year of hospital experience preferred.
- IV Certification preferred.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification preferred.
- Must successfully complete and maintain required position competencies.
- Ability to work effectively in a patient-care environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and psychiatric patient care.
- Cerner experience preferred/required per facility job details.
- COVID-19 vaccination: All travelers must provide proof of completed COVID vaccinations.
Housing & Travel
- Housing is provided by Facility.
- Housing consists of male- or female-only units with a private bedroom and shared common areas.
- Traveler/agency is responsible for booking travel to and from Bethel.
- Facility will reimburse airfare at the base fare for travel to the assignment and at the completion of the assignment.
- For the first week, if the contract guarantees 40 hours/week, guaranteed hours will not apply during the first week because orientation begins on Tuesday.
Pay: $1,600.00 - $2,000.00 per week
