Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hotel Maintenance to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of systems and equipment, ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead maintenance activities effectively.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals, implementing effective repair solutions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Supervise contractors during specialised repair work or projects.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and hotel policies.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work carried out, including parts used and time spent.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest or staff repair requests promptly and professionally.
- Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork within the maintenance department.
Experience
- Proven experience in building maintenance or engineering within the hospitality industry or similar environment.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of wiring, circuit boards, and control systems.
- Mechanical knowledge including plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building repairs.
- Experience working with schematics, technical manuals, and PLC programming is highly desirable.
- Welding skills are advantageous but not essential; relevant training can be provided if necessary.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to instruct team members clearly and liaise effectively with guests and staff alike.
