Juvenile Corrections Officer III. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
There is currently one (1) vacancy for a Juvenile Corrections Officer III (JCO III) within the Juvenile Hall Facility.
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and any future vacancies for fulltime regular and temporary/contingent hire positions which may occur while the list remains active.
Working within the broad social and philosophical values held by the community and the corrections field, JCO III’s perform intensive supervision of minors in the custody and care of Juvenile Hall and provide lead direction and training to Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II. JCO III’s may also:

Assist in program development.

Observe and report on behavior problems and physical complaints of detainees.

Assign work and trains other staff in work procedures.

Counsel groups and individuals.

Prepare and submit daily logs and observation and incident reports.

Liaise and participate in casework with probation officers.

Maintain awareness of security and disciplinary needs.
-
Perform intake and release duties.

Transport juveniles in the event of an emergency.
