Accounting Assistant - Construction Industry
Position Type: Full-Time, In-Person (Lutz, FL)
Position Summary
We are a fast-growing construction company committed to delivering high-quality projects and excellent service. As we are expanding, we’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented accounting assistant with contracts experience to support business running smoothly.
Role Overview:
We need a hardworking, proactive accounting assistant with a positive attitude who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will handle day-to-day accounting tasks and support the management team with financial reporting. This role is perfect for someone organized and dependable.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and submit monthly AIA progress billings (G702/G703 forms)
- Prepare customer package including COIs.
Job Costing & Project Accounting
- Assist in WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting
General Accounting
- Vendor relationships - Complete vendor applications.
- Complete Vendors subcontractors’ agreements.
- Accounts Payable (Enter vendor invoices in QuickBooks Online)
- Accounts Receivable reconciliation
Contract Preparation, Document Management & Control
- Review contract language to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with project requirements
- Incorporate revisions from internal stakeholders and external partners using Track Changes
- Ensure all final documents are properly formatted, clean, and execution-ready
- Organize and manage contract logs, ensuring all agreements are current and easily accessible
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in accounting or business administration
- 3+ Recent years of accounting construction experience
- Experience with job costing in construction environment (required)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
- Advanced Excel and Word
- Experience preparing, drafting and redlining contracts

Compensation: Starting at $28.00 per hour - DOE
