CNC Programmer Specialist
Location: Glendale, AZ
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Schedule Flexibility: Occasional support for 2nd/3rd shift operations may be required
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer Specialist to develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for machining parts, tools, and sheet metal. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of NC/CNC programming, tooling, speeds and feeds, machining processes, and engineering drawings, with the ability to improve production efficiency and troubleshoot complex programming issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify complex CNC/NC programs for machining parts, tools, and sheet metal.
- Analyze engineering drawings, sketches, and design data to determine machining sequences, dimensions, cutting paths, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
- Conduct and coordinate CNC program tryouts and verify program accuracy.
- Modify existing programs to support engineering changes, process improvements, and production requirements.
- Troubleshoot and correct programming errors, omissions, and machining issues.
- Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and process optimization initiatives.
- Develop efficient manufacturing processes that improve productivity, quality, and throughput.
- Prepare geometric layouts and establish reference points and cutting paths.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and cross-functional teams on programming and production projects.
- Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced team members.
- Support special projects and serve as a technical resource for complex programming issues.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of directly related NC/CNC programming experience.
- Completion of a related trade school program, associate degree, or equivalent NC programming training/experience.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and numerical control programming principles.
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining sequences.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and design data.
- Experience optimizing CNC programs and machining processes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on complex programming and manufacturing challenges.

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
