American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with 1+ year of outpatient experience for a mixed hospital-based outpatient and inpatient rehab setting, with first-time travelers welcome.

Primarily hospital-based outpatient physical therapy setting, with potential to flex into the inpatient medical-surgical rehab unit

Patient population ranges from juvenile (typically age 5+) to geriatrics
-
Common diagnoses include total joints, back/shoulder/foot pain, and neurological conditions such as TBI, stroke, and Parkinson's
-
Caseload of approximately 8–10 patients per day

8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (closed 12–1 PM for lunch)

Weekend rotation required approximately once every 5 weekends, covering inpatient units

May be included in a holiday rotation

Current PTA state license required if applicable

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of outpatient PTA experience required; candidates with inpatient-only experience will also be considered

Responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment plans, guiding patients through functional exercises and equipment use, monitoring and documenting patient progress, and maintaining communication with the supervising PT and patient

Orientation consists of 1–2 shifts with a preceptor

Online modules must be completed prior to beginning floor work

First-time travelers will be considered for this position
