Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Staff Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy team and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Oversee all pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient service delivery
- Lead medication management activities, including compounding medications and verifying prescriptions for accuracy and safety
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapies and provide clinical consultations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and oversee medication storage to maintain regulatory standards and cost-effectiveness
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, providing training on pharmacy software systems and aseptic techniques
- Implement and monitor healthcare compliance policies such as HIPAA, medical confidentiality, and pharmacy information systems (PIS) protocols
- Facilitate immunizations, medication administration education, and patient care initiatives across diverse populations including pediatrics and acute care settings
- Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies
- Support hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy services with critical care experience, pain management expertise, and IV infusion procedures
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license in good standing with comprehensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws
- Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care environments, or hospital settings with a focus on acute care or pediatrics
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program preferred; relevant clinical pharmacy experience highly valued
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, drug regulation, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards such as USP 797
- Demonstrated proficiency with pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Records), and inventory management tools
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) required; immunization certification is a plus
- Experience in compounding medications using aseptic techniques; familiarity with IV insertion and infusion procedures essential
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to perform patient assessments effectively while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA regulations and medication safety protocols
- Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $62.59 - $75.38 per hour
