Job Overview:
A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is directly involved in providing quality care for clients. The BHT is responsible for providing structure and support services for the clinical team treating adults with substance abuse diagnoses and/or co-occurring disorders. All responsibilities will fall under the core functions of providing client supervision and ensuring client participation in services.
Duties:
- Greet and welcome clients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provide tour of facility with all new clients.
- Conduct property search on all client's property and itemize all items on agency document.
- Demonstrates maturity, poise, diplomacy, and tact in a situation. Conveys a positive personal and professional image.
- Works cooperatively with other team members, displaying a high level of motivation and enthusiasm for tasks.
- Assist clients in activities of daily living, transports; assists with verbal de-escalation and the monitoring of clients.
Particular clients will need to be checked on more frequently.
- Collect vital signs on all clients as ordered during your shift.
- Assist with room searches when scheduled.
- Promote client involvement in recreational activities.
- Flexible to meet client and staff needs.
- May be responsible for picking up client medication from local pharmacy, as needed.
- Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.
- Deliver meals to clients in detox and residential who are unable to make their way to the dining area.
- Assist Housekeeping with client laundry and other tasks after Housekeeping leaves for the day.
- Take attendance of clients attending Avatar groups, AA, and NA meetings.
- Prepare clients’ personnel belongings prior to discharge.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and one-year experience working with addiction services;
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license.
- Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
Work Location: In person
