Physician diagnoses and treats injuries and illnesses and addresses health maintenance. Family Medicine Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive health care for people of all ages by solving diagnostic problems, managing severe long-term illnesses, and treating multiple, complex conditions. Position includes flexibility of choosing 4 10-hour shifts (including Friday) or 5 8-hour shifts. NO CALL and NO WEEKENDS required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- This is a group medical team setting of family practitioners, internal medicine practitioners, and pediatricians. No inpatient coverage required.
- Adheres to the American Medical Association or other appropriate professional physician code of ethics.
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with patients, coworkers, and other members of the care team.
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency in field through peer review and direct observation by members of the care team.
- Works well with other team members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Maintains appropriate documentation in EHR system.
- Provides comprehensive primary care medical services within the scope of licensure, approved IHCRC privileges, and professional ethics standards, augmented by continued training and/or certification, community standards, and experience.
- Actively pursues quality improvement using GPRA measures and AAAHC recommendations.
- Provides oversight to mid-level providers as needed.
Graduate from an accredited residency program.
Valid and current Oklahoma physician license, either MD or DO.
Maintain board certification.
2+ years clinical experience preferred.
BLS CPR certification.
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with electronic health records software.
Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker, with ability to effectively give direction to care team.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is on feet most of day, both on the computer and interacting with others. Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting. This position performs tasks that may involve direct exposure to patients. Incumbent will be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and in working environment. Personal protective equipment use is required.

This amount increases to 5% after 5 years and 6% after 10 years of service. Vesting in the 401(a) plan is based on a 6 year graded vesting schedule.
- Paid Time Off: PTO combines sick time and vacation time into one bank of time that is used for all personal time off. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work Full Time, 40 hour per week, earn Paid Time Off at a rate of 6.77 hours per pay period (22 days per year). After 5 years of service, Paid Time Off is accrued at a rate of 9.23 hours per pay period (30 days per year).
Physicians start accruing at the 9.23 accrual rate immediately upon becoming benefits eligible.
- Holidays: IHCRC is closed for holiday observations a total of 13 days per calendar year. All Full Time status employees will receive holiday pay for the regular scheduled work day.
- Additional Benefits: IHCRC reimburses eligible employees for professional license fee renewals, professional liability insurance, professional organization memberships, and continuing education conferences. (See policies for guidelines and restrictions.) Productivity bonuses for medical providers are paid out quarterly. Bonuses are contingent on productivity.
