Position Purpose: The Senior Analyst is responsible for supporting Financial Services operations by maintaining financial policies and procedures, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and delivering meaningful business insights through data analysis and reporting. This position combines strong accounting expertise with advanced reporting and business intelligence capabilities and plays a key role in supporting organizational decision-making.
The Senior Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI reporting solutions, automating financial and operational reporting processes, and leveraging advanced Excel tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Working closely with executive leadership, department leaders, and other stakeholders, this role provides financial analysis, reporting, and strategic support that helps drive operational performance and continuous improvement across the organization.
In addition to financial reporting and business intelligence responsibilities, the Senior Analyst performs a variety of accounting functions, including supporting month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, budgeting, financial statement preparation, audit support, and other accounting and financial projects as assigned. The position is expected to provide flexible support across the Finance and Accounting function and assume additional accounting, reporting, and analytical responsibilities as organizational needs evolve.
Core Functions of the Senior Analyst:
· Ability to articulate clear performance expectations for supervisory and line staff and to document those expectations in job descriptions.
· Ability to recruit and retain highly skilled subordinates who may have skill-sets exceeding those of the Vice President.
· Fully implement any audit findings contained in the auditor’s management letter.
· Work with supervisors to assure all pertinent information is gathered and ensure that supervisors understand their budget
· Keep current with DMHA and other external organizations that that have financial impact on Geminus and its network providers.
Requirements:
Bachelors in Accounting, MA in Accounting or CPA (preferred)
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with an emphasis in non-profits (preferred)
