Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Non-CDL Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck without a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to transport goods and materials across designated routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a non-CDL box truck, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, state transportation laws, and company policies.
- Load, secure, and unload materials or waste using appropriate equipment such as front loaders, rear loaders, or roll-off trucks.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking air brakes, manual transmission systems, and safety features.
- Follow established routes for municipal waste collection or delivery services, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and operate specialized equipment like dump trucks or flatbeds when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and compliance documentation related to hazardous materials regulations if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid non-CDL driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical knowledge of trucks such as front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or flatbeds.
- Experience in solid waste management or municipal waste collection is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, air brake systems, hazard materials regulations, and state transportation laws.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading procedures.
- Demonstrated defensive driving skills and a commitment to safety at all times.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
