Job Summary
Denali Concrete is seeking a dependable Yard Operator / Diesel Mechanic to maintain our fleet and equipment while keeping our yard organized and operational. This position combines loader operation, equipment maintenance, diesel repair, and general yard responsibilities. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and willing to assist wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Operate wheel loaders and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform preventative maintenance on ready-mix trucks, loaders, trailers, and support equipment.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and air systems.
- Conduct daily inspections and complete maintenance records.
- Manage yard organization, cleanliness, and material storage.
- Assist with fueling, greasing, washing, and servicing equipment.
- Coordinate repairs and parts procurement.
- Support plant and fleet operations as needed.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Experience operating wheel loaders or similar heavy equipment.
- Diesel mechanic experience preferred.
- Ability to diagnose and repair trucks and heavy equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- CDL Class A preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
