Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA regulations and DOT standards.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and route logs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving across diverse routes.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving.
- Ability to manually handle cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Strong route planning skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for efficient deliveries.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.
