HVAC Lead Installation Technician

The Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading mechanical services organization to identify an experienced HVAC Lead Installation Technician to oversee commercial HVAC installation teams and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced HVAC professional who can lead crews while also bringing strong technical expertise in refrigeration, electrical troubleshooting, equipment startup, and system checkout.
What You'll Do
- Lead HVAC installation crews through equipment installation, startup, testing, and operation
- Direct daily activities of installation personnel
- Review drawings and verify equipment, materials, and job readiness
- Coordinate installation activities and communicate project updates
- Ensure equipment is installed correctly and according to specifications
- Perform system startup, commissioning, and checkout
- Troubleshoot advanced refrigeration and electrical issues
- Identify installation issues and develop solutions in the field
- Mentor and train installation team members
- Coordinate with project leadership and field supervision
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional job site
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Universal EPA Certification
- Proven leadership experience as a lead technician, foreman, or similar role
- Strong commercial HVAC installation experience
- Advanced refrigeration and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read drawings and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of equipment startup and system checkout
- Manufacturer certifications are a plus
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
