Overview
The Osage Oracle and Nora Springs Rockford Register are seeking a motivated Advertising Manager to sell both print and digital advertising across Mitchell and Floyd counties. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with local businesses, building lasting relationships, and helping trusted community newspapers continue to grow.
We are willing to train the right person. Sales experience is preferred, but not required for a motivated, outgoing, and relationship-driven individual.
Position Focus
This position is centered on advertising sales. You will work with local businesses, organizations, schools, nonprofits, and community partners to create effective advertising solutions across both print and digital platforms—supporting their growth while strengthening local journalism throughout Mitchell and Floyd counties.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell print advertising in The Osage Oracle and Nora Springs Rockford Register.
- Sell digital advertising, including website ads, e-edition placements, social media advertising, sponsored content, and other digital marketing solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local business owners and organizations.
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities throughout Mitchell and Floyd counties.
- Collaborate with clients and our design team to create effective advertising campaigns.
- Manage client communication, follow-up, and sales opportunities independently.
- Represent Nelson Media Company and both newspapers professionally throughout the communities we serve.
Skills & Qualifications
- Sales, advertising, or marketing experience preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently.
- Basic understanding of digital and social media advertising is helpful but not required.
- Willingness to learn—we will train the right candidate.
Compensation
- Salary plus commission.
- Unlimited earning potential for a driven salesperson.
- Flexible schedule with work based throughout Mitchell and Floyd counties and partial remote flexibility.
