Job Summary
Are you an experienced Yard Jockey / Yard Spotter looking for a stable opportunity with a growing company? We are seeking reliable, safety-focused professionals to join our team. This is NOT a Forklift Operator position.
Local spotter based in Macon, GA. Family run business, pay every two weeks, direct deposit.
Work 3.5 days a week on a set schedule Day or Night shift from Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday to Wednesday.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently maneuvering tractor-trailers and various freight vehicles within the yard, ensuring smooth and safe operations.
This position offers an energetic environment where your driving skills and attention to safety will directly contribute to our operational success.
Responsibilities
- Move trailers safely and efficiently within the yard.
- Position trailers at loading and unloading docks.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate yard inventory and trailer locations.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Move trailers to designated areas for delivery or pickup while adhering to route schedules and yard organization standards.
- Assist with route driving tasks when needed to support delivery drivers or other operational needs.
Qualifications
- Previous Yard Jockey or Yard Spotter experience REQUIRED.
- Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred but not required).
- Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
