Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Towing Dispatcher to coordinate and manage towing operations efficiently. In this role, you will serve as the central communication hub, ensuring timely dispatching of tow trucks, tracking vehicle statuses, and maintaining seamless communication between drivers, customers, and service providers. Your proactive approach will help optimize fleet utilization, improve customer satisfaction, and uphold safety standards across all operations. Responsibilities
- Receive incoming calls via multi-line phone systems, providing clear and professional communication with customers, drivers, and vendors.
- Dispatch tow trucks promptly using transportation management systems and GPS technology to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Monitor real-time vehicle locations through GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS tracking tools to coordinate routes effectively.
- Maintain accurate data entry in systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 for dispatch records, freight details, and shipping & receiving logs.
- Communicate with drivers regarding job assignments, route adjustments, or delays while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and professionalism.
- Track fleet status and manage logistics using transportation planning tools to optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and supply chain teams to streamline operations and resolve issues swiftly.
- Assist in analyzing operational data to identify areas for process improvement in dispatching, freight management, or fleet utilization.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in towing management software such as TowBook
- Experience with GIS, GPS tracking, and transportation planning tools to enhance dispatch accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating logistics data and making informed decisions.
- Proficiency in data entry
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
