We are seeking an energetic and motivated Food & Beverage Supervisor to assist in overseeing our restaurant, bar, and banquet beverage operations. This position will also be responsible for supervising banquet bar operations during hotel events, ensuring exceptional guest service, effective beverage controls, and consistent compliance with hotel standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong bar and beverage knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and creative ideas for increasing beverage revenue while maintaining a positive and professional environment for guests and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily Food & Beverage operations, including restaurant, bar, and banquet beverage service.
- Oversee and manage banquet bar operations for meetings, weddings, conventions, and special events.
- Lead, direct, and support bartenders, servers, and other Food & Beverage team members during assigned shifts and events.
- Maintain high standards of guest service, beverage quality, presentation, and overall cleanliness.
- Assist with scheduling, assigning work, monitoring employee performance, and ensuring proper staffing levels.
- Assist in training and coaching Food & Beverage team members on service standards, beverage procedures, responsible alcohol service, and departmental expectations.
- Monitor beverage inventory, product usage, waste, and proper pouring procedures to maintain effective beverage cost controls.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory of beverages and operating supplies.
- Ensure proper cash handling, point-of-sale procedures, opening/closing procedures, and beverage controls are followed.
- Develop and recommend creative ideas, promotions, and operational improvements designed to increase bar and beverage revenue and enhance the guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local and state liquor laws, responsible alcohol service requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain knowledge of purchasing procedures, beverage operations, food handling requirements, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure bars and service areas are properly stocked, organized, clean, and prepared before restaurant service and banquet events.
- Assist management with addressing guest concerns and resolving service issues professionally and promptly.
- Support departmental leadership with employee coaching, documentation, and enforcement of established policies and procedures.
- Perform other Food & Beverage supervisory duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, bar, banquet, or hotel Food & Beverage experience required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, alcoholic beverages, beverage controls, and responsible alcohol service.
- Banquet or high-volume event bar experience preferred.
- High-energy, outgoing, and guest-service-focused personality.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative mindset with an interest in developing ideas to improve the guest experience and increase beverage revenue.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and applicable liquor laws.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on business needs.
Compensation
This is a non-tipped supervisory position. The Food & Beverage Supervisor is not eligible to participate in employee tip pools or tip-sharing arrangements. Compensation is provided through the established hourly rate for the supervisory position.
