Little Scholars Learning Center is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Toddler / Two's Teacher to join our early childhood education team. We are looking for an educator who understands that the toddler years are a critical time for developing language, independence, social-emotional skills, and a love of learning.
Our Toddler / Two's Teachers utilize the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences while fostering a structured, nurturing, and safe classroom environment. Through intentional play, exploration, and meaningful interactions, our teachers help children develop confidence, curiosity, and essential developmental skills.

Position Title: Toddler / Two's Teacher
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- No weekends
Compensation:

Position Summary
The Toddler / Two's Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and engaging classroom that supports the developmental needs of children ages 18 months to 3 years. This position includes implementing the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum, creating monthly lesson plans through the Learning Beyond Paper portal, conducting developmental observations and assessments, and encouraging children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development through purposeful play and daily routines.
The ideal candidate will create a classroom where children feel safe, loved, encouraged, and excited to explore the world around them.
Essential ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Instruction
- Implement the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum with fidelity and enthusiasm.
- Develop and submit monthly lesson plans using the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum portal.
- Plan engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage exploration and discovery.
- Support children's language development through songs, books, conversations, and interactive experiences.
- Encourage early literacy, math, science, sensory exploration, art, music, and movement.
- Foster independence through age-appropriate self-help skills, including feeding, dressing, toileting readiness, and clean-up routines.
- Create meaningful opportunities for learning through play.
Child Development & Assessment
- Conduct ongoing developmental observations and assessments.
- Document children's progress and developmental milestones.
- Complete required assessment records and portfolios.
- Individualize learning experiences to meet each child's developmental needs.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a structured, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Establish predictable routines that promote security and confidence.
- Use positive guidance techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors and social skills.
- Create engaging learning centers and maintain an inviting classroom environment.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
Care & Daily Routines
- Assist children with diapering and/or toilet training in accordance with licensing regulations and center policies.
- Support children during meals, snacks, naps, and transitions.
- Maintain proper sanitation and hygiene procedures throughout the classroom.
- Ensure children's physical and emotional needs are met with patience and compassion.
Family Communication
- Build trusting relationships with families and caregivers.
- Communicate daily regarding children's routines, milestones, and developmental progress.
- Participate in parent conferences and family engagement events.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all communications.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe classroom environment.
- Complete attendance records, incident reports, and required documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure proper supervision during indoor activities, outdoor play, meals, diapering, and transitions.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with administration and fellow teachers.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with center-wide events, family activities, and classroom projects.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of Little Scholars Learning Center.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working with toddlers or young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to create a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Preferred
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience with curriculum planning and child assessments.
- Experience using Learning Beyond Paper curriculum or similar early childhood curriculum programs.
- Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
